James Oppy founded the business in Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne in 1961. His son Jonathan — a certified metallurgical engineer — took over in 1980, implemented Australia's first 10 Bar Vacuum furnace, and led Oppy to become Australia's only Ford-qualified heat treatment supplier.
Today, the business operates from Pakenham in South-East Melbourne, still family-run, still doing the same work with the same care.
